The JOY of Love - Day 8
"Gift of Love"
Here's another assignment that is JUST right! The assignment is to capture a "gift of love" given by or to a loved one. This year, on April 28th, my dear husband and I will celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary. We married and blended two families with teenage children - five between us - in one little house. The adjustments that must be learned in our situation are tremendous - never mind just adjusting to two people's living habits, we had to adjust to parenting styles, parent/child dynamics compounded by adolescent hormones, and just sharing close quarters amongst us all! Figuring out what it means to share romance when you're twice the age you were the first time you were married (to someone else), and how to succeed where you once had not... we've had our work cut out for us. But I can sit here in front of my laptop and write candidly that we have succeeded. The gift of love we gave each other on April 28, 2001 is standing the test of time. And I feel confident that if God chooses to leave us on this earth for 10 or 30 more years together, it will just get better and better. I love you, Mr. Fartwallower. Edie
